Vacation

These pages provide a general overview and describe the general rules related to vacation, for example regarding who is entitled to vacation, vacation pay, compensation in lieu of vacation as well as the rules applicable when terminating an employment. Please refer to your company’s collective agreement and the information provided in Swedish here on Arbetsgivarguiden for a full description of the rules. Please note that in English translations of Swedish legal texts (law, collective agreements, individual agreements etc) the words “annual leave”, “holiday” and “vacation” are used as synonyms. We have chosen to use the word vacation.
